About Us
The Front Climbing Club was Utah's first indoor rock-climbing gym, and one of the first in the nation. From its humble beginnings as The Body Shop back in the 80's to three best-in-class facilities today, The Front has never lost its soul or connection to its roots. Responsibilities:
· Understands and adheres to all safety, sanitation, and administrative procedures
· Provides basic food preparation following established guidelines and recipes
· Fulfills daily cleaning tasks such as sweeping, mopping, bussing and wiping down tables, washing dishes and general cleaning of kitchen
· Stocks storage area and assists with daily inventory
· Sets up station with food products, utensils, sanitation products and general mise en place
· Cuts, slices, unwraps, and prepares raw ingredients (e.g., fresh produce, meat cuts) for use on the line and for use in food prep recipes
· Inspects color, consistency and temperature to ensure daily food quality
· Ensures food is cooked as per the guests' specifications
· Cleans station, floors, counters, tools, cutting boards, and preparation surfaces using the correct cleaning methods to ensure the station remains clean, orderly, and sanitized
· Ensures minimum waste
· Assists in the control of food cost when receiving and preparing products
· Coordinates with the prep kitchen and kitchen manager to ensure deliveries and inventory are accurate
· Assists the kitchen manager, café manager, and Rumsys' team as needed
Qualifications
· Cooking experience preferred but not required
· Culinary experience is a plus, but not required
· Holds current food handlers permit and current Tips N Sips certifications
· Must be at least 21years of age
· Ability to work nights and weekends required
· Ability to multitask
· Strong organizational skills
· Strong verbal communication skills
· Must be able to stand for long periods of time
Job Hazards
This position is exposed to airborne chalk, dust and cleaning supplies. Other hazards are falling from slippery surfaces after they have been cleaned, being exposed to hot liquids and steam, loud noises. Potential of cuts and scrapes from kitchen utensil use.
Physical requirements
· Ability to bend at the waist and lift items up to 50lbs
· Ability to move items up to50 lbs. Distances of up to 25 feet
· Ability to remain standing and active for an 8-12-hour shift
· Ability to hear, understand, and respond to employees' and guests' requests in a loud environment
· Ability to work in cold and hot environments throughout the shift
· Manual dexterity and familiarity with common kitchen equipment and utensils
